Jewelry Box

This Jewelry box was crafted as a gift for my dear wife for Christmas. A few parts were late getting in (not to mention I was late to get it started)... and it is finally complete. While the design and construction smell of Craftsman styling, the slight curves around the piece yield a moderate Asian feel.

Constructed of Curly Maple with Wenge (pronounced When-g-E) accents, the piece was finished using a boiled linseed oil rub, which brings out the figure in the grain of the wood, then finished off with a high gloss polyurethane. Jeweler-grade felt was installed on the insides of the drawers and the flip top, which is held open with stay-open brass hinges.

Thinking about making a few more of these... for sale. Any takers? Suggest MSRP?

  1. Gorgeous! Love the curved lines and color contrast. That is a beautiful piece.

I imagine the time and detail going into that won't be fully compensated with anything I can offer - but there will be takers I'm sure. Lovely, lovely.
